Released just in time for the Oculus Quest’s launch, Emmy Award-winning animation Baobab Studios launched Bonfire, directed by Eric Darnell (director of the Madagascar films) and starring comedian Ali Wong.

“I couldn’t say no to Baobab because Oprah worked with them. If it’s good enough for Oprah, it’s good enough for me!” Wong said in an article from Animation Magazine. “But seriously, I’m used to animation being this kind of fluffy thing that’s for kids, and yes, Bonfire is funny, but I was really surprised by the serious themes being explored through such an absurd situation. It’s a great story and I am excited to be a part of it.”

In Bonfire, you play as Space Scout 817 on a mission to discover a new home for humanity after it “made a mess of Earth.” After crash landing on an unknown planet with the only source of light being a makeshift bonfire, you befriend Debbie, an energetic robot sidekick voiced by Wong. The player will have the opportunity to explore the mysterious new world, befriend inhabitants, and make choices that influence the events of the story.

Bonfire costs $9.99 and is now available for Oculus Quest, Rift S, and Rift.
