Mark Mansour and Gian Manfredi, two gaming fans turned business partners, established GOVR Brighton, a virtual reality (VR) gaming cafe aiming to make VR accessible to those visiting Brighton in the United Kingdom.

“When we first started hosting gaming nights, we brought our own personal computers and two VR headsets,” said Mansour. “We were encouraged by the people who enjoyed our events to set up GOVR Brighton in the summer of 2016.”

After running many pop up events in more than 18 venues across Brighton, Mansour and Manfredi found a home above Presuming Ed’s Coffee House in Brighton. Mansour and Manfredi hope that with their VR cafe, they’re able to bring people that were curious about VR so that they can experience the medium in a fun, social, and affordable manner.

“At the moment, you’ve got the people doing their best to bring down the entry cost of VR, and on the other side, you’ve got a lot of people still finding it too expensive or complicated to access VR. In the middle are the VR arcades,” Manfredi explained. “What we’ve been saying with our pop up VR events is that you can deliver high-quality VR experiences in an affordable and inclusive way.”

If you’re looking to get a taste of VR, sessions at GOVR Brighton start at £15 per hour per headset – and make sure to book a session in advance.
