Second generation models of the revitalized Google Glass Enterprise Edition have leaked, alluding to power comparable to a mid-to-high range Android smartphone.

According to 9to5Google, who originally reported on the leak, the updated Glass Enterprise Edition will feature a Snapdragon 710, onboard LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, and 802.11ac Wi-Fi for connectivity. The camera is also reportedly jumping to a 32-megapixel sensor (from 8-megapixels originally), with support for either 4K video at 30 fps or 1080p video at 120 fps. Glass is also boosting RAM to 3GB, up from 2GB on the original two generations of the Glass.

The biggest improvement, though, is the replacement of an aesthetically-appealing magnetic cable with a pragmatic USB-C port for fast charging – which makes sense, given the industrial audience that Alphabet is aiming for.

While these updates aren’t particularly ground-breaking (especially when compared to Microsoft’s HoloLens 2 promises), the competition and innovations provided for enterprise consumers may lead to consumer versions later.
