As revealed earlier this year by Pokémon Go developer Niantic, Harry Potter fans in Australia and New Zealand now have the chance to hunt down Confoundables in augmented reality (AR). In the game, players to explore the real world as wizards and witches working for the Statute of Secrecy Task Force, a group within the Ministry of Magic that protects J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World from curious Muggle eyes.

The beta version of the location-based entertainment (LBE) AR game is live on the Australian and New Zealand versions of Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store. Wizards Unite is attempting to lean a bit more AR functionality now that Niantic’s improved AR occlusion has been sorted out since Pokémon Go‘s launch. However, it should be noted that users can still play Wizards Unite with the AR functionality disabled. It should be noted that this version of the game may completely change by the time of release, including design, artwork, functionality, and more. Players interested in the game should report their feedback to Niantic, and those who want to play the game when it’s available in their region can sign up for future updates on the Wizards Unite website.
