According to Huawei’s latest patent filings, the Chinese tech giant is looking to develop AR glasses that’s powered by a smartwatch that you plug into the side of the glasses. Huawei’s experimented with a similar device before with their brand of TalkBand products – on your wrist, they’d be fitness trackers, but when you plug them in your ear, they become Bluetooth earpieces.

Huawei is experimenting with augmented reality, and one application looks like a strange combination of wearable tech. Huawei’s futuristic AR glasses may be powered by your smartwatch

If innovations like these AR glasses came to market, they could tackle the issue of unobtrusive wearables for the everyday consumer. What matters now is actually making them unobtrusive in design.
