Tribeca, Cannes, and NewImages recently held festivals showcasing submissions from artists in the XR space. What’s notable about these kinds of festivals is the ability for these experiences to be shared directly online to viewers.

Using the Museum of Other Realities app from a virtual headset, users can purchase a festival ticket to the various competitions for $14.99. The ticket allows users access to the festival submissions for a limited time from June 9th through the 20th and July 6th through the 17th.

Unlike traditional art festival pieces that require travel to the festival for proper viewing, these pieces were designed to be digital and some of them even have interactive elements.

While these types of festivals are only a yearly occurrence, other events and experiences are showcased in the Museum of Other Realities frequently. As Twitter user @vrbarnyc said “Museum of Other Realities is a magical space featuring artworks from top digital artists that change periodically. Some of my most memorable experiences in VR were exploring MOR with others. We wore dresses, became giants, juggled drinks, met the creators, & drank on the stairs.” To experience for yourself, check back often and perhaps you’ll find a new way to experience art through XR.
